THE PLP 2020 YEARLY BULLETIN

#1 Our APM training courses moved online. Just as the PMO world is adapting to support organisations in the ever-changing climate, we have also had to adapt the provision of our APM accredited training courses. Since the online implementation, we have welcomed two new bespoke training cohorts, putting our adapted courses to the test! Read our blog post about how we adapted to the “new norm”.

#2 Created the first PLP cartoon! Hiring our first marketing placement student this year has allowed the marketing department to grow and achieve new things. One of which is the first PLP cartoon (which we are extremely proud of)!  Meet Anna, the Head of Project Delivery…

#3 Checked on our employees’ mental health. Mental health is a topic we have internally discussed on various occasions, but with this year being a particularly tough one, we selected two consultants to champion our mental health awareness programme. As champions, they offer mental health support and guidance to their colleagues through our internal monthly bulletins and mental health training sessions as part of their commitment to reducing the stigma surrounding mental health. Read their reflection piece here.

#4 Supported local charities. As always, we have thoroughly enjoyed offering our support and volunteer efforts to our two sponsored charities; The Outback Community Garden and The Kerry West Orphanage Project.

#5 Shined our consultants’ spotlight. Since the arrival of four new employees this year, we thought it would be fun to introduce a campaign as a way of informing our network about the incredible work our passionate project professionals complete day in and day out. From APM accredited awards to 3 University graduations in the space of a year, we are incredibly proud of all of their success. Read our people’s page to learn more about our consultants.

#6 Team Mike celebrated their 2019 House Points success. We managed to organise the 2019 House Points winner’s celebratory day out in between the various lockdowns this year with a team trip to Elvington Driving Experience in York. We are excited to see who the winning team will be this year at our virtual Christmas Do, but at the moment it looks like it will be a brand new team!

#7 New bid management procedure. Like some of our other services, we had to adapt our business development techniques this year. We have invested more of our resources into a new bid management structure. Read about our success and challenges in our blog, and our advice for other SME’s looking to do the same.

#8 Introduced our Topic of the Month campaign. As a new and exciting way of educating our network on project management topics, we created a new campaign called #TopicOfTheMonth in which we discuss a range of project management topics via blogs and social media posts written by our project consultants. From risk management to post project reviews, keep an eye out to see what next month’s topic will be!

#9 Began development work on the PLP website…watch this space! With the arrival of our first ever marketing placement student comes the arrival of a new PLP website! Our website revamp has begun this year, and will hopefully be complete in the early stages of 2021, so keep an eye out!

#10 Remained enthusiastic! We are still as keen as ever to offer our consultancy and training services to clients requiring our support. The continuous support of both our loyal and new customers this year has helped us to continue to deliver high quality services. So from all of us, thank you.
