- Master of Engineering
- Chartered Engineer
- Member of Institution of Civil Engineers
- Fellow of Higher Education Academy
- APM Associate Member
Current responsibilities: With PLP I work predominantly with the training team delivering the PFQ and PMQ courses and the Level 4 Associate Project Management apprenticeship. PLP training in 2020 has gone through a digital transformation and I am learning new delivery methods to ensure the value of face-to-face teaching is not lost. I work with other bodies such as the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education, as a mentor and steering group member, linking to skill development in the training portfolio, and currently working on my Doctorate of Engineering investigating learning styles of Degree Apprenticeship students.
Personality and experience: I am a Chartered Civil Engineer and spent ten years as a construction site manager before moving to Leeds Beckett University where I taught management modules and the APM PMQ and PFQ qualifications and acted as Course Director for MSc Civil Engineering.
Interests outside of work: I love the outdoors and being active – and encourage the family to do the same. I enjoy swim-run events and now getting to grips with my new MTB. All of which is a good preamble to good food and wine!
Best thing about PLP: The organisations that I have worked for previously have all been very large, so I am excited to be working with an SME that focuses on their people, their community and with a passion for their business. PLP comes highly recommended.
