APM Project Fundamentals Qualification

Current responsibilities: Callum is currently working with the PL Projects team at Asda as the Supply Chain, RFE, Infrastructure & Data Programme Planner & Project Online Consultant to the Transformation Office.

Previous experience and personality: Whilst on his placement, Callum worked as an Assistant Project Manager where he learnt valuable experience in areas such as project programmes and risk and issue management.

Callum is a passionate graduate who is eager to assist our clients with any project support requirements. He is a team player and naturally can lead different employees in successfully completing tasks. Callum enjoys learning and works hard to develop his skills.

Interests outside of work: Callum spends most of his time being a family man who regularly visit parks, farms & soft play areas with the aim to train his young daughter into a Lioness of the future. He likes football and is less embarrassed than usual to announce he supports Arsenal. He loves a nice meal out and most weekends you will find him in a restaurant exercising this hobby.

Callum's MSP and planning knowledge is at a level of senior planner, as a PM I was hugely impressed with the breadth of knowledge and application that Callum was able to provide so early on in his career. Having Callum on the team was a huge asset, I can confidently say that we would not be in the position we are today without the hard work, determination and subject knowledge that Callum added to the team. I cannot thank him enough.

I have worked with Callum for nearly a year, in that time he has taken the time to train me in using MSP confidently, always sharing best practice and guiding me on some easy fixes and watch-outs. He works hard to build relationships with all the Project and Programme managers so that any issues can be easily resolved, although he is not afraid to challenge where he can see a better way or something does not meet his quality standards. He is proactive in reaching out to verify things, ensuring he fully understands what need to change in the plans but also the reasons driving the need for change. On that point, he recently suggested a different way of reporting in my business area to ensure all the key drivers to land the project were in one place rather than spread across several projects – he made this simple by mocking up a template, walking stakeholders through this and then jointly populating it with the business. He is well regarded within our central PMO team who often come to him for guidance. On a personal note, Callum is great colleague to have in the team aways striking the right balance between making work fun and being professional – he is a great advert for PLP.
