THE BENEFITS OF A QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (QMS)

WHAT IS A QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (QMS)?

According to QMS International, a QMS is defined as “a framework that documents the processes, procedures and responsibilities that businesses can use to guide them towards their quality goals”.

To simplify this, at PL Projects we describe a QMS as a knowledge management system – you outline all your business’ processes, from most significant to supportive, then create an interactive map where the data and information is stored in an organised manner. It is a simple process architecture diagram upon which anyone in your business would be able to locate a certain process for a specific policy or responsibility.

The majority of QMSs are built for registration from the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), an international membership system that develops standards across a variety of industries, from healthcare to engineering. Having an ISO accreditation validates to your customers that your products and services are safe, reliable and good quality.
