Qualifications:

Masters Degree in Project Management
APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ)
APM Project Risk Management Single Subject Certificate – Level 1 and 2

Current responsibilities: Omar is currently working on the PL Projects Website project, he worked on developing the plan and maintaining the schedule for the project. Omar also engages with the business, works on new opportunities and bid proposals for PLP.

Previous experience and personality: Omar was working within PL Projects’ PMO team at NHS Digital, working as a PMO Support Officer within the Supply and Management team. Omar’s role includes managing and updating the Invoice tracker, the Purchase Order (PO) tracker, Trello and SharePoint. Omar also helps with the BAU within the Supply and Management team.

Omar has worked within PL Projects’ PMO team at Asda, contributing to the coordinating of the People Tower Programme within the Future Programme. Omar’s role includes scheduling and organising workshops, updating and managing the RAID Log, conducting the RAID reviews with the project managers, responding to queries via email or zoom and helping with the BAU within the PMO in the People Tower.

Before joining the PL Projects team, Omar led different projects as a residential support worker. He supported different types of vulnerable people by organising different accommodation, housing, education and other survival requirements. Before this, Omar served in the British Army for over 10 years as an infantry solider and team leader of the 3^rd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment.

Omar is an extremely kind, calm, intelligent professional, who is looking to advance his career in project management office and project management. He has been looking for project opportunities since completing his Master’s Degree in Project Planning and Project Management in 2021. He has the ability to communicate effectively with his colleagues and senior managers to understand the requirements asked of him. He is a natural leader.

Interests outside of work: Omar enjoys spending time with family and friends, socialising in pubs and nightclubs, going to the gym, watching F1, football and travelling.

Omar has been a pleasure to work with on a daily basis. He is a natural problem solver who has exceeded expectations. He uses his own initiative to find better ways of working. He has been very engaged with all processes for the Commercial side for the Covid 19 Test Programme and has implemented change even though he was only with us for a very short time. He is fantastic at communicating new processes and identifying quickly, issues that may arise. Omar has a very fast learner, and we are sorry to see him go. We wish him the absolute best in his bright future.
