Current responsibilities:Karim has been supporting one of our clients as PMO in the retail sector understanding the complexities of managing the planning and programme governance on a large element of work with multiple workstreams and projects.

Previous experience and personality:Before joining PL Projects as PMO consultant, Karim had worked as a Project & Operations Manager for an IT/Tech organisation. He has strong programme & project management skills that enable him to undertake any PMO and project/programme management roles in the IT & Tech industries.

Karim is keen to develop and deploy his skills within a PMO function. He is very interested in learning as much as he can to improve our clients’ projects and programme governance. With his background in IT/Tech, digital marketing, customer service and operations, Karim is able to engage with many different types of stakeholders in any work environments.

Interests outside of work: Karim enjoys reading and sightseeing. He also enjoys going for long walks when weather is nice.

Karim, in particular, has especially impressed me. He joined on Day 1 of our first workshop and has gone from strength to strength ever since. In his early days we talked about all the things that needed doing with our planning and governance and he has set about tackling them with real tenacity and determination. He has never let me down on delivery; if he says he’ll do something by a certain point, you can be sure he will and I know that he has worked late on occasion to achieve this because he understands the criticality of his contribution. Lastly, his style and approach have won the confidence of the project managers with whom he regularly interacts. It has been great to watch him develop; I am absolutely convinced that he has many as-yet untapped talents.

Karim is a valued member of our Programme and has single-handedly held the PMO together during times of significant change and challenge. He has a ‘can do’ attitude and never shirks a task. He has built a good network across the Programme so is able to navigate his contacts to resolve issues and progress actions. He has never complained and just gets on with the job. He is technically proficient and helped us align and improve our Programme ways of working. He can be trusted to manage creation of core governance materials, provide insightful and helpful input and ensure dissemination to all those who need to receive the materials. I have particularly appreciated how he has led the project to transition our RAIDD to Jira. He has driven all elements of this and done a great job of representing our Programme’s requirements to the central PMO.
