Current responsibilities:

John is currently supporting our client, the Card Factory, with project management of multiple projects including Full Stock Loop – an end to end stock visibility and distribution project, implementation of a Project Portfolio Management tool (Triksell – PPM) and previously a Human Resource Integrate System (HRIS). He is also an account manager; responsible for managing the relationship / delivering quality to PLP customers, and head of the risk management functional group.

Previous experience and personality:

Over the past four years, John has taken on various client-facing roles. Recently, he led a change management initiative as Programme Management Office (PMO) manager for Card Factory. This involved evolving an I.T PMO into an Enterprise PMO (ePMO) within the newly established Transformation Office, developing a tailored governance framework to suit the entire business’s diverse change requirements whilst considering factors such as maturity, complexity and appropriate methodologies. Previously, John worked on the project controls team for Network Rail’s Trans Pennine Route Upgrade Eastern (TRUe) section, where he implemented a complex project change control system, contributing to the project’s ISO 44001 accreditation. He also successfully managed two internal PLP Projects, including launching a new risk management consultancy and training service, which is accredited by the Association for Project Management (APM). Before this, he implemented and achieved accreditation for an ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

John is extremely dedicated, self-sufficient employee who thoroughly enjoys supporting our clients through complex challenges. John possess great communication and listening skills, he has the ability to establish relationships with various internal and external stakeholders. He is committed to developing within PL Projects and is an emerging leader of the business recently promoted to the position of Account Manager due to his excellent relationship management and leadership skills.

Interests outside of work:

Powerlifting, body building and general fitness. Understanding, empathising and supporting fellow humans through voluntary work with Leeds Mind and Samaritans. Football, nature, history, psychology, art, travel, walking and being mindful (as best he can).
