The Challenge: 

PL Projects joined the NHSE / UKSHA Test Digital Covid-19 Programme in October 2020 to assist in the roll out of the nationwide Test and Trace booking system for the Covid-19 pandemic. PLP consultants joined the Delivery Operations team and immediately demonstrated their agility and adaptability to a unique and fast-paced environment. By developing strong relationships with key stakeholders, such as the Programme Director, Head of Product and Head of Delivery Operations, the team were trusted to support various critical activities across the programme. 

The Solution:

As the demands of the programme grew, the team expanded and responsibilities broadened, providing dedicated workstream support to product, delivery and user-centred design teams. This enabled a tailored, but consistent approach to the processes (Governance, Reporting etc) the programme had in place and an opportunity to identify and implement process improvements.

The Outcome:

Successful MVP delivery and improvements of COVID 19 workstreams IBT, OBT & DPT. Following the lifecycle of the project, the team supported the programme into the contingency and decommissioning phases, and eventually developed and managed programme closure documentation, ensuring smooth transitions and knowledge transfer for future initiatives within NHS England. This will enable a lasting legacy of all the incredible work carried out by the programme over the past 4 years.
